Business Plan for Investment
When you get to the point of where you have decided that your business needs investment you most likely know what you want to do with the money, but the question that needs to be asked is, “Why would I or should I invest in you or your company?”
[
The sole purpose of a business plan for investment is to get and investor to part with their money and invest it in your company. Sounds very simple, but the truth of the matter is that you have to change your perspective to look at your company as to what’s in it from them (the investor). To help you get that perspective you need start by answering the following:
[
What kind of investment do I want?
- Family
- Angel investor
- BES (Business Expansion Scheme) investor
- VC (Venture Capital) investor
[
You might ask why would you care. The simple fact is that each type of investor listed above has to be approached differently and for the most part they vary widely in their expectation of you and your business.
[
What’s in it for them? An investor will want to know the answer to these questions:
- What do I get for my investment
- What will I get in return
- When will I get my return
- Do I believe “you” will deliver the results in the timeline I agreed
- Do I believe the product will sell
[
