Strategic Sales Plan

The first caveat is that you have already a functional business plan. If you don’t have one of these then we need to create one, because a Strategic Sales Plan is worthless if it is developed in isolation from a solid business plan.

This type of Strategic Sales Plan by its’ nature is a look at the direction of your sales department over the next 12 to 36 months. Key areas for discussion, review and inclusion will be:

-  What product/services you sell now vs. those that you will sell in the future

-  How will you expand your market share

-  When you expand your products and services what will your market share look like

-  Have you got the appropriate staff to deliver the new products

-  Do you need extra resources or do you need to reassign existing resources

-  Is there a need to invest in technology and training of you staff

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it’s the start of get your mind in the right place to start with.
